Question

You are creating a life care plan for two different patients, both of whom have incurred a C6/C7 injury and have been diagnosed with quadriplegia. Both individuals are 30 years of age, but Client A has a college degree and Client B dropped out of high school. Client B lives in a rural setting miles from many health care professionals, and Client A resides in a large metropolitan community with access to many different types of health care facilities. Client B has an extensive family support system and Client A has a small family unit with little support. Client A has made a good psychological adjustment, and Client B is showing signs of significant psychological distress. Despite the differences in psychosocial issues, the level of spinal cord lesion and completeness of lesion (identical ASIA rating) remains alike. Would you expect the needs/recommendations in the life care plan essentially to be the same?
