Question

How are complications listed in a life care plan?

Answer

Complications are listed in a life care plan as “information only.” The life care planner should educate individuals involved in the case as to what the complications are. A life care planner is unable to predict with accuracy the frequency, severity or cost for treatment for any complication. A life care planner should only consider including a complication in the life care plan if it is said to occur with in “reasonable rehabilitation probability.”
