When developing a life care plan for a client who is dependent on a ventilator, how does a life care planner determine the appropriate level of support?
First and foremost, the life care planner must establish the care procedures that the patient will need and then determine whether the services require an LPN, RN or other health care professional. Life care planners should reference their state’s home health regulations and nurse practice guidelines for help with this as each state defines the level of duties that each professional is legally able to perform.
