What conditions may require the use of a ventilator?
High-level quadraplegia, vascular accidents, encephalitis, birth defects, brain stem lesions, neurologic disorders, and pulmonary diseases causing chronic air flow obstruction, as well as others, may necessitate the use of a ventilator.
