This online course identifies the most up to date resources for remaining current on the medical and psychological consequences of spinal cord injuries. The primary focus is on the long-term consequences of paraplegia and tetraplegia as well as the combined effects of age and disability requiring phase changes in the life care planning process. Information on the care of ventilator-dependent spinal cord patients is included and the differences between providing care plans for the adult versus pediatric patient is outlined.
