Dana Weldon has practiced in private rehabilitation since 1982 in Canada and the United States in the capacity of a rehabilitation consultant/vocational counselor and certified life care planner. Dana is a Registered Rehabilitation Professional and has by examination been conveyed certification status as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) through the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC). Dana has successfully achieved the Certified Life Care Planner (CLCP) as well as the Canadian Certified Life Care Planner (CCLCP) certifications which were also conveyed by examination through the International Commission on Health Care Certification (ICHCC).

Dana’s formal education includes a Master of Science in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling obtained through the University of Wisconsin-Stout; Bachelor of Environmental Studies (University of Waterloo); Bachelor of Education (University of Toronto); Ontario Teacher’s Certificate; Primary Education Certification; and Life Care Planning Post Graduate Certificate from the University of Florida.

Dana is a member of the Vocational Rehabilitation Association of Canada (VRA) and the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals (IARP). Dana served on the IARP Board of Directors from 1997-2001 and was an IARP Ethics Committee Board Member from 2001 to 2007.

Dana is currently:

  • a Faculty member at the Institute of Rehabilitation Education and Training (IRET) as the onsite Canadian instructor for the Forensic Aspects of Life Care Planning;
  • a Commissioner of Life Care Planning with the International Commission on Health Care Certification (ICHCC) and;
  • Regional Director-Ontario for the Canadian chapter of IARP
