The Institute of Rehabilitation Education and Training (IRET) is the new home of the University of Florida Life Care Planning Pre-Certification Program. Through IRET, students may take the pre-approved coursework needed towards their Canadian and/or U.S. life care planner certification.

Growth Within the Field

In June of 2015, the Institute of Rehabilitation and Education and Training (IRET) received the rights to the University of Florida Life Care Planning Pre-Certfication Program. Through IRET, the new pre-certification program will offers students continued training of life care planners, which will protect the field for generations to come. With new technology available within the private sector, the program will continue and grow as it maintains the reputation as a premier life care planning pre‐certification program. IRET will offer students a user‐friendly program management system and direct access to instructors, premier life care planners, and available technical support.

The New Life Care Planning Pre-Certification Program

The Institute now offers the same Life Care Planning pre-certification program, previously known as the UF Life Care Planning Pre-Certification Program, that is designed to prepare those who are seeking to become Certified Life Care Planners (CLCP) or Canadian Certificated Life Care Planners (CCLCP). Those who complete the pre-certification Life Care Planning program at the Institute will be qualified to sit for the certification exam offered by the International Commission on Health Care Certification (ICHCC).

For specific information on the CLCP or the CCLCP credential please visit the ICHCC website.
